South Ossetian Leader Meets OSCE Envoy in Tskhinvali

South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity met with Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Mircea Dan Geoana in Tskhinvali on October 7, the South Ossetian Press and information committee reported.

During the meeting Eduard Kokoity expressed readiness for maintaining a quadripartite format of talks and promoting confidence building between the sides.

The South Ossetian leader reiterated that the status of the Joint Control Commission, involving  the Georgian, South Ossetian, Russian and Russia?s North Ossetian sides, should be increased in order to give the commission more authority.

In his turn Mircea Dan Geoana expressed hope that the sides will reach an agreement in the negotiating process and pledged to spare no efforts to organize a meeting between the conflicting sides on a neutral territory.
