Georgian-Abkhaz Talks Planned in Sochi

Two-day Georgian-Abkhaz talks will be held in Russia?s Black Sea resort of Sochi on October 6-7 regarding the return of refugees to the Gali district of breakaway Abkhazia and security guarantees in the conflict zone.    

State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava will represent the Georgian side at the talks, while the Abkhaz side will be represented by de facto Foreign Minister Sergey Shamba.

UN Secretary General?s Special Representative in Georgia Heidi Tagliavini will also participate in the talks.

Reportedly, the issue of resuming the Georgian-Russian railway via breakaway Abkhazia will also be discussed.
