NSC Chief Slams Moscow over S. Ossetia
Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia Gela Bezhuashvili expressed protest regarding the statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry on October 3, in which Moscow accused the Georgian side of carrying out a mortar attack on South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali on September 20.
?It is unclear why the Russian side does not draw attention to those alarming facts which take place in the South Ossetian conflict zone – including abductions of Georgian citizens and attacks against Georgian villages. We doubt that Moscow deliberately acts so. Russia maintains a unilateral position, making only the Georgian side responsible for the recent incidents in the conflict zone,? Bezhuashvili said at a news briefing on October 5.
