Burjanadze Comments on South Ossetia Shooting
Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze condemned the incident in the South Ossetian conflict zone on October 2, when a group of armed men entered the Georgian village of Berula and opened random fire which resulted in the injury of two civilians.
?This case once again confirms that similar incidents will always take place in the conflict zones until these conflicts are settled. There are certain forces which are interested in maintaining the status quo and to keep these conflicts frozen,? Nino Burjanadze told reporters on October 3.
She reiterated that the key task of the Georgian leadership is ?to find the mechanisms for a peaceful resolution of the conflicts [in South Ossetia and Abkhazia]; and we will do it.?
