Opposition MP Attacked in Tbilisi

Georgian MP from opposition Republican party Valerie Gelashvili was brutally beaten up by unknown persons in Tbilisi on July 14. Gelashvili was hospitalized with severe injuries.

The Georgian law enforcement agencies have not made any comments regarding this incident so far.

Wealthy businessman Valerie Gelashvili, who was elected in central Georgian single-mandate constituency of Khashuri, joined the opposition Republican party recently.
