JCC to Meet in Moscow
Quadripartite Joint Control Commission (JCC), which oversees ceasefire in the South Ossetian conflict zone, will meet in Moscow on June 20-23, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported quoting unrecognized republic?s Special Affairs Minister Boris Chochiev, who represents the South Ossetian side in the JCC.
Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Goga Khaindrava, who represents the Georgian side at the JCC confirmed on June 17 that the session of the commission is expected in Moscow, but said that this meeting will be held on June 20-21.
Boris Chochiev did not rule out possibility of participation of Georgian and South Ossetian Interior Ministers in this meeting.
The JCC, which also involves representatives from Russia?s North Ossetian and Russian sides, will discuss the current situation in the conflict zone, which has been aggravated after an armed clash between the South Ossetian militias and Georgian policemen on May 29 and disappearance of four Georgians in the conflict zone on June 6.
