Public Television Board Elects Chairman
The nine-member Board of the Georgian Public Television elected Levan Tarkhnishvili as the Chairman of the Board on June 14.
Levan Tarkhnishvili, Director of the Caucasian Resources Research Center, Eurasia foundation, is one of nine Board members approved by the Parliament last month.
The other 8 members of the Board are as follows:
Alexander Rondeli, President of think-tank Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS);
Ghia Nodia, head of the Tbilisi-based think-tank Caucasian Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development (CIPDD);
Tamar Kintsurashvili of the activist group Liberty Institute;
Pridon Todua, prominent surgeon;
Gia Khubua, Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Science of Georgia;
Rusudan Sebiskveradze, composer;
Nino Ananiashvili, Georgian prima-ballerina and head of the National Ballet Troupe;
Mamuka Kherkheulidze, a journalist who was also a member of the Commission on modernization of State TV:
According to the Law on Broadcasting, the Public Television Board will appoint a Director-General of the Public Television to a six-year term.
