Georgian Energy Minister Visits Abkhazia

Georgian Energy Minister Nika Gilauri left for breakaway Abkhazia on June 8 to hold talks with the de facto authorities there.

According to the Georgian Energy Ministry, the sides will discuss rehabilitation of the Enguri hydro power plant, which is located at the administrative border between Abkhazia and rest of Georgia. The issue of possible export of electricity to Turkey is also planned to be discussed.
