U.S. Senator Hagel, General Wald Visit Georgia
Senator Chuck Hagel, Nebraska’s senior U.S. Senator and member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and General Charles F. Wald, the Deputy Commander of U.S. European Command, arrived in Tbilisi on June 3 to consult with Georgian government officials.
According to the U.S. Embassy to Georgia, Senator Hagel and General Wald will hold talks with President Mikheil Saakashvili, Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili and Secretary of the National Security Council Gela Bezhuashvili.
Senator Hagel and General Wald will also visit the Krtsanisi Training Center where the Georgian soldiers are receiving training under the U.S.-funded Sustainment and Stability Operations Program.
