Burjanadze Comments on U.S. Ambassadorial Nominee

Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze expressed hope that the Georgian authorities will establish good cooperation with John F. Tefft, who has been nominated by the U.S. President as the new Ambassador to Georgia.

?As far as I know John F. Tefft has great experience in working in the post-Soviet space. I think it is not incidental that the U.S. Administration nominated him as the Ambassador to Georgia. I am sure that we will establish good cooperation and the relations between Georgia and the United States will further deepen,? Nino Burjanadze told reporters on May 18.

She also expressed gratitude to outgoing Ambassador Richard Miles, who, as she put it, was always ready for constructive relations with the Georgian leadership.
