Saakashvili Hails Armed Forces
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said on April 29 that Georgia has no plans ?to resort to arms? but ?enemies should know that Georgia is now ready for any kind of situation.?
The President was speaking at the closing ceremony of month-long military exercises for the Georgian artillery battalions, which was held at Orpolo training ground near the town of Akhaltsikhe in south of the country.
?This is a historic breakthrough for our country. We already have modernized armed forces. However, Georgia will never be the first to take arms; our main weapon is unity and peaceful way. We are not going to transform our armed forces into main argument of our policy, but our enemies should know that we also have an argument like this [the armed forces],? Saakashvili added.
