MPs Discuss Increase of Budgetary Expenditures
Georgian Parliament launched discussion of draft amendments to the 2005 state budget, envisaging an increase in the budgetary expenditures by 452 million Lari (approximately USD 245.6 million).
The Government plans to increase expenditures owing to revenues that are anticipated, mainly from the privatization process.
Most of the additional revenues will be allocated for the defense and energy sectors. The Defense Ministry will receive 175.8 million Lari; the energy sector, 163 million Lari.
30 million Lari will be spent on the rehabilitation of roads; the Education Ministry will receive an additional 22 million Lari; the Ministry of Labor, Health Care and Social Welfare ?24 million Lari; the Interior Ministry – 9.5 million Lari; the Ministry of Culture and Sport ?3 million Lari.
