Georgia Welcomes Re-Election of President Voronin

In a statement issued by the Georgian President?s press-office on April 4, President Saakashvili welcomes the election of Vladimir Voronin as the President of Moldova.  
 
?We welcome this important decision of the Parliament of Moldova, which will undoubtedly play a key role not only in the history of Moldova, but also towards stability, peaceful resolution of conflicts and economic development of the whole region,? President Saakashvili?s statement reads.

Vladimir Voronin was re-elected on April 4 in a parliamentary vote. He pledged to continue efforts to bring Moldova closer to the European Union.
