Saakashvili, Yushchenko Sign Declaration on Strategic Cooperation
Visiting Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and his Ukrainian counterpart Victor Yushchenko signed a declaration today in Kiev regarding the development of strategic relations between the two countries, reports the news agency RIA Novosti.
?This declaration envisages [our] joint aspiration into NATO and the European Union,? Saakashvili said after the signing ceremony.
Moreover, both the Secretaries of the National Security Councils of Georgia and Ukraine, Gela Bezhuashvili and Piotr Poroshenko, signed a memorandum on a mutual understanding between the National Security Councils of the two countries.
Mikheil Saakashvili left for Ukraine for an official three-day visit on March 24.
