U.S. Senators Visit Georgia

A delegation of U.S. Senators led by Senator Harry Reid, the Senate Democratic leader, arrived in Tbilisi on March 22 to hold talks with Georgian government officials, the U.S. Embassy to Georgia reported.


The issues of regional security, as well as political and economic issues will be discussed during the talks.


The delegation will meet with President Saakashvili, Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli, Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze and Georgian civil society leaders.


The delegation will also visit the Krtsanisi Training Area (KTA) facility, where they will see Georgian soldiers in training to participate in peacekeeping operations in Iraq.
