U.S. Helps Georgian Coast Guard
Within the frames of the Georgian Border Security and Law Enforcement Program, with financial support from the U.S. Government, a modern radar post being constructed in the village of Anaklia, on Georgia’s Black Sea coast, reported the U.S. Embassy to Georgia.
At least USD 160 thousand will be spent on building this post.
The new radar post will help conduct in monitoring the territorial waters of Georgia. In April, similar works will begin in the village of Chakvi in the Adjara Autonomous Republic.
A post of this type has already been built in Supsa, in the Guria region in western Georgia, also through financial support from the United States.
