PM Vows New Cabinet will Take ‘Serious Steps’ towards NATO

Upon his arrival from the United States on December 11 Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania once again confirmed that a government reshuffle is anticipated.  Zhvania added, however, that the details of the changes will become known only after he holds consultations with President Mikheil Saakashvili.

“The government performed well in 2004, but it should perform better next year. We are facing huge tasks ahead. And if we do well in two years, Georgia’s membership in NATO will become a reality. Next year we should take serious steps in this direction,” Zurab Zhvania told reporters.

“I can not comment about the details of the anticipated changes in the government before consultations with the President,” he added.
