Anti-Opposition Rally outside Parliament
Couple of hounded followers of Georgia’s deceased ex-president, Zviad Gamsakhurdia, staged rally protesting against the opposition outside the Parliament building today, where tens of thousands of protesters demanded last week President Shevardnadze’s resignation.
They were joined by Guram Sharadze of pro-presidential election bloc For New Georgia, Emzar Kvitsiani, the President’s envoy in Kodori gorge and Tsotne Bakuria of Revival Union party, led by Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze.
Participants of the rally slammed the opposition leaders – Mikheil Saakashvili, Zurab Zhvania and Nino Burjanadze, who demand President Shevardnadze’s resignation.
