Protest Action at the State Chancellery Building
(Tbilisi. May 5, 2003. Civil Georgia) – The United National Movement” held a protest action in front of the State Chancellery building. The party members and supporters demanded improvement of the social conditions.
“The government must do everything to provide the population with electricity and natural gas, so there would be no constant fear of cut of gas and electricity supply” – the action participants declared. The action was led by Vano Merabishvili, one of the United National Movement members.
Representatives of the movement said that this was a forewarning measure and if the situation does not improve, they will conduct to more wide-scale actions.
