PACE Official Visits Georgia

(Tbilisi. April 16, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Terry Davis arrived today in Tbilisi.

?The aim of my visit is to observe on-going situation in Georgia,? Terry Davis told the reporters after the meeting with the Georgian Parliamentary delegation to the PACE today.

MP Zurab Zhvania told the reporters that he emphasized during the meeting with PACE official on negative trends that take place in Georgia on the eve of the Parliamentary elections.

?I expressed my protest regarding the undemocratic proposal of President Shevardnadze, which considers composition of the Central Election Commission with 9 representatives of President out of 11,? Zurab Zhvania told the reporters after the meeting with Terry Davis.
