Abkhaz de facto Premier Rejects Call for Resignation
(Tbilisi. April 2, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Abkhaz de facto Prime Minister Genadi Gagulia has issued a statement admitting that “there is difficult situation in the country,” Abkhaz official news agency Apsnipress reported on 1 April.
Prime Minister of breakaway Abkhazia affirmed his government’s readiness for “active dialogue with all political parties and organizations that are interested in the democratic development of the republic.”
Amtsakhara, a public political movement uniting veterans of the 1992-93 war, called the government to resign on 29 March.
In his statement de facto Prime Minister Gagulia rejected Amtsakhara’s demand for resignation.
