Shevardnadze, Putin Held Preliminary Talks

(Tbilisi. March 6, 2003. Civil Georgia) – During the meeting on March 6 at Russia?s Black Sea resort of Sochi Georgian and Russian Presidents discussed the agenda of the talks.

Russian media sources report quoting Russian President?s Spokesman Aleksey Gromov, that Vladimir Putin expressed willingness to propose several ?ideas how to achieve breakthrough? in Russo-Georgian relations.

Today Eduard Shevardnadze and Vladimir Putin will hold talks regarding the situation in Abkhazian conflict zone.

Georgian President said on March 3 that he does not anticipate ?a great success from these talks.?
