Caucasian Speakers Meet in Russia

(Tbilisi February 8, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Speakers of the Caucasian states – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia meet in Russia’s North Caucasian city of Kislovodsk on February 8.

This is the third meeting of the Caucasian speakers, which was initiated last July by Sergei Mironov, Chairman of the Council of Russian Federation (upper chamber of the Parliament). The first meeting was held in St. Petersburg and the second in Tbilisi.

The top issues of the current political agenda are discussed during the meetings of the Caucasian speakers.

It is anticipated that Nino Burjanadze, Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson will raise the issue of situation in Georgia’s breakaway Abkhazia at the meeting.
