NATO Will Cooperate with Georgia Under an Individual Program

NATO experts will visit Georgia in the nearest future to work on issues, connected with Georgia’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance.

“My negotiations with Lord Robertson in Prague are very perspective. Georgia and NATO will develop an individual plan of cooperation, ultimate goal of which would be Georgia’s accession to the organization” – told President Shevardnadze to journalists on his way from Prague to Tbilisi.

On November 22, in his speech at the Prague Summit, President Shevardnadze has officially declared Georgia’s will to become a NATO member state.

“We agreed that we will be assisted by the best specialists and Georgia-NATO cooperation program would be also one of the best” – President said.

Shevardnadze did not say exact year of  Georgia’s accession to NATO, but as he said “it’s not very far away”.
