Vice-Speaker Proposes to Extradite Chechen Fighters to Third Country
(Tbilisi, September 13, Civil Georgia) – Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Vakhtang Rcheulishvili proposed at the Parliamentary session on September 12 to hand over the Chechen fighters hiding in Pankisi gorge to the third country.
“Georgian authorities should demand from the fighters to surrender. After that Georgia would extradite them not to Russia but to the third country,” Vakhtang Rcheulishvili, leader of the Socialist Party stated.
Russia categorically demands from Georgia to arrest terrorist and Chechen fighters and hand over them to Russia. Russian President Putin set an ultimatum to Georgia, in case the terrorists are not cracked down in Pankisi, Russia would carry out its own operation in the gorge.
