Police Killed Criminal, Hostages Released

(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, August 20, 2002) – Early in the morning on August 20 the police attacked minibus with three hostages killing criminal, causing no injuries among hostages.

On August 19 criminal robbed the jewelry store in the center of Tbilisi and took four hostages. Later he released one of them.

After the robbery a criminal hijacked a minibus with hostages. The police could stop him in Mtskheta, near Tbilisi. Criminal threatened to explode a bomb in case the attack.
