Russia Restored Electricity Supply to Georgia

(Tbilisi. January 8. Civil Georgia) – Russia renewed electricity supply to Georgia on January 8, terminated on January 2 because of damage of high-voltage power line Kavkasioni, Russian news agency Itar-Tass reports.

Georgia receives Russian electricity via Azerbaijan, as Kavkasioni power line is not repaired so far because of heavy snowfalls.

After explosion at the AES-Mtkvari power station on December 22, 2001, Russia supplies Georgia 300-megawatt per day to make up electricity shortfall.
