Rice Plans to Visit Georgia in 2005

Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili said at a news briefing on May 11 that U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who accompanied the U.S. President in Tbilisi during the May 9-10 visit, will travel to Georgia again before the end of this year.

?But before [this visit takes place] Condoleezza Rice offered me to visit the United States and then she will visit Georgia,? Salome Zourabichvili said.

The Georgian Foreign Minister also said that she could not discuss bilateral cooperation with the U.S. Secretary of State in detail because the latter was visiting Georgia in frames of the presidential trip.

Salome Zourabichvili also said, while commenting on this trip by the U.S. President to Georgia, that this visit was not ?anti-Russian.?

?It was pro-Georgian and aimed at supporting Georgia,? she added.
