In Pictures – Before ‘Velvet Revolution’ November 22-23

November 22-23 was a crucial days for successful ‘velvet revolution’ in Georgia, that led to end of Shevardnadze’s presidency. Shevardnadze’s grip for power loosened on November 22 as the protesters seized the Parliament and the State Chancellery – two main governmental buildings in Georgia. No gun fire has been heard. No one was injured. Eduard Shevardnadze, who was led by his bodyguards out of the Parliament on November 22, after the protesters stormed the legislative body, announced the state of emergency. However this could not help Shevardnadze to retain power.
