Defense Minister Levan Izoria, who is on a two-day official visit to Podgorica, held a meeting with his Montenegrin counterpart Predrag Boskovic on March 26, discussing the two countries defense cooperation.

“Montenegro is a new NATO member and the visit has special importance; this highlights that NATO’s open door policy with respect to Georgia remains on the agenda,” Izoria said in his remarks after the meeting.

“We will closely cooperate with Montenegro in the future both bilaterally and within NATO, and the country will remain Georgia’s strong supporter on its way to NATO membership,” the Minister also noted.

On March 27, Levan Izoria held a meeting with Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic, with the two discussing a broad range of issues, including defense cooperation and economic relations between the two nations. Izoria is also scheduled to meet Foreign Minister Srdjan Darmanovic.
