EU’s Barroso Visits Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan
European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso will be visiting Moldova, Georgia and Azerbaijan on June 11-14.
His office said that visits to Moldova and Georgia will “underline EU support” to these countries ahead of the signature of the Association Agreements and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) with them on 27 June. During his visits to Chisinau and Tbilisi, Barroso will address EU investment conferences, which aim at discussing business opportunities in these two countries in the context of their economic integration with the EU through DCFTA.
Barroso will arrive in Tbilisi from Chisinau on June 12, which will be his first official visit to Georgia, where he will meet President Giorgi Margvelashvili and PM Irakli Garibashvili.
