Georgian FM’s Bilateral Meetings at UN
Georgia’s Foreign Minister, Grigol Vashadze, met with UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, as well as his counterparts from six countries in New York on September 19 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s annual General Debate.
At the meeting with the UN Secretary General, the Georgian Foreign Minister raised “difficult situation in Georgia’s occupied territories”, as well as violation of human rights by the Russian Federation and continued militarization in those territories, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
On September 19 Vashadze also meet with Swiss President and Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey, whose country is a mediator between Georgia and Russia, including in talks over Russia’s WTO bid.
On the same day the Georgian Foreign Minister met with his counterparts from Turkey, Portugal, Panama, Gabon and Bhutan.
