‘Technical Problem’ Suspends Kavkasia TV’s Broadcast

Tbilisi-based Kavkasia TV temporarily suspended broadcasts on May 14 because of “technical problems,” Davit Akubardia, director general of the TV station, told Civil.Ge.

“We were informed from the Tbilisi TV tower management that one of the parts of a transmitter was damaged, as a result of which Kavkasia had gone off the air,” Akubardia said. “We will probably buy this part tomorrow and let’s see what will happen then.”

Kavkasia TV was put off the air after the November events along with Imedi TV. It resumed broadcasts on November 16 after the state of emergency was lifted.
