Zourabichvili’s Party Receives Go-Ahead to Run in Local Elections

The Central Election Commission has officially registered ex-Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili?s opposition Georgia?s Way party on August 17, giving the formal go-ahead to participate in upcoming local elections.

The CEC said on August 17 that it has checked the signatures of 50 000 supporters submitted by Georgia?s Way that were required for registration.

Local elections are tentatively scheduled for December.
