Imedi TV’s License Resumed
The Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC) on December 4 reversed an earlier decision to suspend Imedi TV?s license for three months.
The move follows a government commitment earlier in the week to lift the legal obstacles preventing the station from broadcasting.
In line with the government’s softened stance on Imedi, the General Prosecutor?s Office asked Tbilisi City Court on December 5 to unfreeze Imedi?s assets ? the last remaining legal obstacle for Imedi to get back on air.
Technicians are expected to be allowed inside the Imedi TV studios on December 5 to inspect equipment and to determine when the television station can technically resume broadcasting.
