Tense talks are expected at an informal session of the quadripartite Joint Control Commission (JCC) over South Ossetian conflict, South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity said at a news conference in Moscow on March 19.

JCC, involving negotiators from the Georgian, South Ossetian, Russian and Russia”s North Ossetian sides, will gather at information, informal session in Istanbul on March 21-23.

“We expect a very tense conversation in Istanbul, where Georgia will try to undermine the existing [negotiating] formats,” Interfax news agency quoted Kokoity as saying.

Tbilisi says that the JCC is an unfair and outdated negotiating format and has been refraining from holding a plenary session of the commission.
