Bagapsh: Abkhazia to Privatize Displaced Georgians’ Apartments
Abkhaz leader Sergey Bagapsh confirmed the decision to resume the privatisation of apartments owned by displaced Georgians, Apsnipress news agency reported.
This decision is seen in the context of the new Abkhaz law on citizenship, which practically strips an estimated 2-3 hundred thousand ethnic Georgians of their legal residence in Abkhazia.
Bagapsh reacted to the protests of Tbilisi regarding the property rights of the displaced persons and refugees saying “they can say whatever they want [in Tbilsi] I will sign this law, and it will work.”
