‘Group of Friends’ Discuss Abkhazia in Moscow

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loshchinin met with the ambassadors of France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States to Russia on October 26 and discussed Abkhaz conflict resolution issues, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

These countries, including Russia, represent the UN Secretary General?s Group of Friends, which mediate Georgian-Abkhaz talks. These UN-mediated talks between the conflicting sides are scheduled to take place in November.

Earlier on October 26 the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister also met with Irakli Chubinishvili, Georgia?s Ambassador to Russia, and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
