Tbilisi, Moscow Near Agreement on Bases’ Pullout Routes

Officials from the Georgian and Russian Foreign Ministry ?mainly finalized? text of an agreement over ?organization of transit? of military cargo and hardware from the Russian military bases stationed in Georgia, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported in its information note issued on July 26.


The meeting between the sides was held in Moscow on July 25-26. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry the sides will agree on final version of the text in the nearest future.


The Russian and Georgian Foreign Ministers agreed on May 30 that Russia will pull out its military bases from Batumi and Akhalkalaki in the course of 2008.
