Ivanov Confirms Moscow can Launch Bases’ Pullout in 2005

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov told reporters on April 26 that Russia will start a withdrawal of its bases from Georgia in 2005 if a formal treaty is signed by the two sides.

?Theoretically we can start the process of the withdrawal of our servicemen and military hardware from Georgia this year, but only under the condition that a treaty, prescribing the dates of this process, is signed,? the Interfax news agency quoted Ivanov as saying.
