Parliamentary Committees Discuss Putin’s Ultimatum

(Tbilisi, September 12, Civil Georgia) – The joint meeting of the Parliamentary Committees on Foreign Affairs and Defense and Security discuss at the moment Russian President’s statement and the Russo-Georgian relations after this statement.

At the Parliamentary session in the morning, MPs decided to renew session after the meeting of the National Security Council is over. The meeting is held at the moment in the State Chancellery (President’s administration), to outline the government’s joint policy concerning the Russian President’s ultimatum.

“After the Security Council’s meeting each of the MP will have the opportunity to express opinion concerning the current Russo-Georgian relation, which, I think, is not ordinary at the moment,” Nino Burjanadze, Parliamentary Chairman stated at the session today.

On September 11 Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian Defense Ministry to work out the plan of preventive strikes against the terrorist harboring in Georgia.
