Central Election Commission Changes Decision After the Parties’ Pressure

(Tbilisi, May 9, Civil.ge) – Central Election Commission [CEC] changed its decision on composition of the district election commissions, as the New Rights, Revival, Industrialists and some other political parties demanded on May 8.

These parties claimed that the district commissions were formed in favor of former Parliamentary Chairman Zurab Zhvania’s team that was inadmissible for them. 

The New Rights Party organized protest rally in front of the CEC building in the center of Tbilisi on May 7 after the CEC took that decision. The rally continued until the decision was not changed by the CEC.
