Parliament’s Statement Says Russian Move to Kodori is Aggression

Georgian Parliament unanimously adopted statement, appealing to the international organizations and condemning dispatching Russian troops to Kodori gorge on April 12.

“Russia launched military operation on the Georgian territory. Georgia demands from Russia to withdraw its forces from Kodori gorge,” the statement says.

After the Georgian side fulfilled its obligation and pulled out its units from Kodori gorge, according to the April 2 protocol, Russia sent to the gorge troops, that is an open aggression against Georgia, the statement adopted by the Parliament says.

78 soldiers of Russian peacekeeping units, deployed in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone, were dispatched to Kodori gorge, the only part of breakaway Abkhazia controlled by the Georgian government, on April 12.
