Parliament Discusses Justice Ministry’s Anti-Corruption Bill
(Tbilisi, March 26, Civil Georgia) – Parliament initiated discussion of anti-corruption draft law elaborated in the Justice Ministry with the Presidents’ request on March 26.
MPs already discussed anti-corruption draft proposed by reformer Mikheil Saakashvili.
The draft proposed by the government considers formation of special bureau determining which state official is involved in corruption and setting their fee payment.
Reformers claim that creation of one more structure like special bureau will become another source of corruption.
The draft law on “Return of Ungrounded Property to the State”, proposed Mikheil Saakashvili, considers return to the state of property, possessed illegally by the governmental officials, while the alternative draft does not considers this aspect.
