Turkey’s Possible Presence at Georgian Military Airport Still Concerns Armenia

(Tbilisi. December 27. Civil Georgia) – “Armenia will regard the use of Georgian military airport in Marneuli by the Turkish air forces as the threat to the Armenian national Interests,” Armenian Deputy Minister of Defense Mikael Arutunian stated on December 27, Russian Information Agency Novosti reports.

Georgian Defense Ministry and Minister of Foreign Affairs Irakli Menagarishvili denied the information that Georgia is granting landing rights for Turkish military aircraft at its airfield in Marneuli, easern Georgia on December 26.

The Turkish government funded reconstruction of the Marneuli airport in 2000.
