Parliament Postpones Voting on Chkhobadze’s Candidature
(Tbilisi. December 21. Civil Georgia) – The Parliament postponed voting on Nino Chkhobadze’s candidature re-nominated by the President Shevardnadze for the Environment and Natural Resources Minister’s post.
Chkhobadze asked the Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze to discuss her candidature next week. “She wants to hold a consultations with the Parliamentary Committees and factions,” Chairperson of the Parliament stated today.
Nino Chkhobadze was the only candidate nominated by the President to be rejected by the Parliament while forming the new government. President Shevardnadze re-nominated Chkhobadze on the Environment and Natural Resources Minister’s post. She held the portfolio in the previous cabinet sacked on November 1.
