Parliamentary Faction Against Appointment of Burjanadze’s Husband

(Tbilisi. December 13. Civil Georgia) – The New Rightist faction protests against the appointment of Badri Bitsadze on the post of the Deputy Prosecutor General. Badri Bitsadze is husband of Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze.

MP Levan Gachechiladze member of the New Rightist faction considers this as a conflict of interests. Chairman of the faction Davit Gamkrelidze stated today that appointment of Bitsadze means that the power will gather in one family’s hand. Formation of one more family clan in the government is inadmissible, Gamkrelidze stated.

New Factions demands resignation of General Prosecutor Nugzar Gabrichidze as well for appointing Bitsadze. He was appointed on the post of the Deputy General Prosecutor’s post on December 10. Before that Badri Bitsadze was Chief Military Prosecutor.
