President not to Propose New Candidate on the Energy Minister’s Post
(Tbilisi. December 3. Civil Georgia) – It will be inappropriate to propose a new candidate on the post of the Energy Minister on very beginning of the winter season, President Shevardnadze stated today in his weekly interview to the state radio company today.
The Parliamentarians criticized Davit Mirtskhulava’s candidature on the post last week. MPs decided to hold voting this week. Mirtskhulava is holdover from the previous government sacked on November 1 by the President as the result of the mass protests.
Providing electricity to the population is a problem especially in the winter. The street protests demanding increased supply of electricity becomes more and more frequent in the Georgian capital.
