Georgia’s Lasha Talakhadze won the men’s over 105kg weightlifting with a world record, clinching his country’s first gold medal of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Georgia’s Irakli Turmanidze won the bronze medal in the same weight category and Armenia’s Gor Minasyan took silver.
