Georgian President to Visit Germany
Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili will pay his first official visit to Germany on June 29-30.
He will meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel on June 30.
“Bilateral relations, the situation in the South Caucasus region as well as relations between the European Union and Georgia will be among the topics of discussions,” the German Chancellor’s office said.
The visit will come two weeks after Georgian PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili visited Berlin and three weeks after Georgian Parliament speaker Davit Usupashvili visited Germany.
The Georgian President will also meet his German counterpart Joachim Gauck, as well as presidents of the both houses of the German parliament, according to the Georgian President’s office.
“During the meetings the President will focus on speeding up visa liberalisation for Georgia, deepening of bilateral relations and Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration,” Georgian President’s spokesperson, Eka Mishveladze, said on Tuesday.
